Gateshead Council Learning and Skills are delighted to be recruiting for their next cohort of Supported Interns (September 2025)
A Supported Internship is a learning programme with work experience. It is designed to help and support young people (16-24 years of age) who have a learning disability or other special educational need gain the skills and experience needed to move into paid employment. 70% of Interns progress to paid employment of at least 16 hours a week.
We will be holding an information day on Thursday the 28th of November at 5pm at Gateshead Civic Centre.
At the event young people, parents, carers and professionals will be able to hear all about the Supported Internship programme and how successful it has been across England.
