The bladder and bowel service offers a friendly and confidential specialist service for both children and adults. The children service supports 1-19 years old, who are registered with a Gateshead GP who commonly have concerns such as:
Constipation
Soiling
Stool withholding
Day time wetting
Nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting over 5 year old)
Overactive bladder (urine urgency/ frequency)
Children needing specialist support to achieve toilet training developmental skill

The adult service supports young adults from the age of 18 year old to facilitate transition into adult services, who are registered with a Gateshead GP who commonly have concerns such as:
Persistent constipation
Faecal incontinence / soiling
Frequently needing to rush to use the toilet to pass urine
Feeling the need to frequently go to the toilet to pass urine (more than seven times a day)
Leaking urine when coughing, exercising or laughing
Changes in urine flow / difficulties passing urine
Frequently needing to urinate overnight
Frequent bedwetting
