Have your say on the SEND reforms!

On Monday 23 February, the Department for Education (DfE) published its schools white paper 'Every Child Achieving and Thriving', which shares its plan to reform SEND support in early years, schools and colleges.
The changes aim to improve help and support for children and young people with SEND across the 0 to 25 years system. The DfE are consulting on these proposals, and would like to hear from anyone who has an interest in the reforms including:
- children, young people and families
- teachers and leaders
- schools and trusts
The proposals may also be of interest to:
- early years providers
- post-16 providers
- local authorities
- experts and academic organisations
- representative groups
Every child achieving and thriving outlines the reforms to the schools and SEND system in England and includes links to easy read and web accessible versions of the document. Alongside this, the DfE has published a series of clear, accessible summary guides outlining the key proposals and reforms. These documents are designed to help parents, carers and professionals better understand what is being proposed and what it could mean for children and young people with SEND.
